My two cents on ‘Queen of California’ video.

Got nothing to do so I thought I’d share my thoughts on the ‘Queen of California’ video.

I saw some people were not entirely feeling it and I can see why (I’m all for being an objective fan, maybe I don’t voice it often enough haha). I personally like it a lot, though for me it doesn’t top the Shadow Days (the landscapes!) or Who Says (what can I say, I love NY wibe) ones, to be honest. But there’s a lot of lovely things in QOC video, the obvious ones being John (;)), the guitars, the band, the ever-changing scenery, the colors, the action and the ending. First time I was watching it I didn’t know whether to look in John’s eyes or watch what is happening around him. But I can’t say I don’t like the fact that he’s looking to the camera, feels like he’s looking right at you. I like how JM suprises us once again, since it’s not a video you would’ve imagined for this particular song. But then again, when you think about it, it conveys the message of the song perfectly: John leaving the bad times behind, going on a journey and kind of making a full circle, only this time going back to a much happier, brigher and colorful place.

So, as the director says ‘Back to 0:01!’
